August just started, and so did the most distracted stretch of the working year. Most of us still have to work this summer. But there's also a trip, family reunion, a nice enough afternoon that the to-do list can wait.
There's a fire! Don't put it out. You can't. I learned that on a fire line in Alaska, 20 years old, standing next to a wildfire that had already burned 60,000 acres. That changed how I think about leading through the fires that don't just go away.
